Predefined Groups

To use CanogaView EMS features each user must have an account which is assigned to a group. Users

assigned to a group inherit the permissions of that group. CanogaView EMS has four predefined groups:

Administrator, CV-Administrator, Observer and Operator having the following preassigned permissions:

Administrator

• CV-Device-Properties

• Device-Administrator

• Device-NP-Operator

• PCS-Administrator

•Report-Administrator

CV-Administrator

• Alarms-Administrator

•CV-Administrator

• PCS-Administrator

•Report-Administrator

Observer

• Alarms-Observer

• Device-Observer

•PCS-Observer

•Report-User

Operator

•Alarms-Operator

• Device-Operator

•PCS-Operator

•Report-User

You can add or delete permissions to a predefined group or create new groups. For either of these

functions you would use the features: Groups and Users which are in the CanogaView menu under the

Security option. Consult the CanogaView EMS Online Help for instructions on using the Groups and

Users options.
